A is for Apples

We started out apple week by visiting an apple orchard. They kiddos were able to pick and taste apples. Then we took the apples we picked and made homemade apple cider. It was delicious!

Apple Roll Ups
We made what I call apple roll ups. It is a great recipe for preschoolers to follow. First we took the skin off and cut the apples. Then you add sugar, cinnamon and butter.

Then you use cresent rolls. The kiddos scoop a little of the apple, cinnamon, sugar and butter mixture onto a cresent roll. Then they roll it up, hence the name. ;-)

I followed the cooking instructions on the crescent roll package. They enjoyed having these for a snack, not only because they taste good, but because they helped make them.

Get the kids in the kitchen! I realized shortly after this activity that kids do not cook as much anymore and it is SO important on many levels. I am going to continue to find preschool appropriate recipes to bring into my classroom and I hope you do to!

Happy cooking.
